Press Information

Anime Bemidji welcomes members of the press who are interested in reporting on the convention. Newspapers, TV outlets, and the like are invited to cover our convention. We provide complimentary press passes to members of the press who plan to report the convention in some kind of broadcast media such as a blog, news article, radio, television news, etc., and who can verify their credentials with a reporting organization or established website of a year or longer. This includes up to three individuals per outlet.

Members of the press include:

  • Print journalists: people who write for local or school newspapers
  • TV Correspondents: camera crews and reporters for television or visual news
  • Bloggers: established bloggers with at least one year of consistent content

Anime Bemidji press passes are not available for:

  • Individuals who are not planning to publish about the event
  • Documentary filmmakers
  • Private photographers
  • Photographers who are soliciting photographs or private shoots

Members of the press are expected to maintain high professional standards throughout the duration of the convention. They are welcome to attend in costume and enjoy everything the convention has to offer attendees, as well as background access to see how the convention is run and interviews with convention staff members who agree. Those with press badges are ineligible to participate in the cosplay contest. All attendees agree to be photographed at the convention and that their photographs may be published. It is still a matter of courtesy to ask for permission for taking photographs of specific attendees and groups.

All articles and stories should refer to the convention as Anime Bemidji. It is appreciated but not required to include the link to our website in order for individuals who are interested to learn more about future events. Press badges enable individuals and organizations to report on the convention. They do not provide special privileges and you should avoid being in the way of our production and staff crews during the convention, or doing anything that would disrupt events. Interrupting events, abusing your privileges, or not cooperating with our staff can result in loss of your press pass and denial of future applications.

The deadline to apply for a press badge is February 22 2027. There are no press badges available after the deadline.

Run a Panel

By hosting a Panel, Workshop, Game, or other Event, you help make the convention fun and awesome. We are excited you are considering sharing your knowledge, humor, or talent with the rest of the con!

Please submit as early as you can!

We will cut off submissions after we have filled the schedule, so please submit your event early. All submissions after that point cannot be considered for placement. If yours is accepted, you will receive a confirmation email with the day and time that you are scheduled at least a month before the convention.

Give fans what they need!

Topics of all Panel, Workshop, or Events should be related to some aspect of Anime, Art, TV, Movies, Manga / Books, J-pop, Fashion, Food, Language, Martial Arts, Video Games, etc. If it is felt that your submission does not fit into the scope of the convention or is inappropriate, we might not approve your submission. In general we try to be accommodating, and most submissions are approved if they are relevant and have a nice description.

Flexibility is required!

First and foremost we ask for your flexibility with scheduling. You will be able to request time preferences, and our programmers will do their best to accommodate you, but we can not guarantee specific time spots. Everyone wants their panel at a specific time, but we need to spread them out so that people have a reason to stay for both days, so we can't make any promises about where we will put your panel. If you are scheduled and are unable to attend, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible so that we may make other arrangements.

Please let us know your needs in detail!

If you require special equipment for your Panel, Workshop, or Event please let us know in your submission. We may be able to prevent you from strapping your big screen TV on the hood of your car and hauling it to the convention.

If you have any questions, please contact us, and we will do our best to be of assistance to you! If you would like to host a panel, offer a workshop, or host an event at the con, please fill out the submission form. You are welcome to submit as many panels as you wish, though they may not all be selected. Submitting panels does not include a badge for the convention, you must still buy a badge.

Volunteer

Would you like to be a part of this amazing event? Filling out the form does not guarantee a volunteer slot, we will contact you by January 20th. You must be 18 or older to volunteer with Anime Bemidji.
